Taco Bell (NYSE:YUM) spent $4 million placing a 60-second ad during Super Bowl XLVII and now it’s hoping its staff to share it.
The Mexican fast-food chain sent the minute-long spot to all 150,000 employees, MSN is reporting. The company hopes that they will share it via social media and get the firm some extra mileage out of the commercial. CEO Greg Creed told CNBC, “They already started to tweet it and Facebook it to their friends.”
The ad – called “Viva Young” – features an 87-year-old man, Bernie Goldblatt, leaving his retirement village and partying with other elderly folks. They finish the night with a meal at Taco Bell. The official release on YouTube has been viewed more than 70,000 times since Monday. Goldblatt was featured in an earlier teaser commercial, as well. The teaser on YouTube has been viewed more than 500,000 times.
Earlier, Taco Bell had to pull a commercial about people disliking vegetables after complaints were raised on Twitter.
