[1]Holy auction, Batman! The original Batmobile from the 1960s’ TV series is being auctioned off.
The car, driven by actors Adam West and Burt Ward in the show, is one of the featured pieces at this weekend’s Barrett-Jackson event in Scottsdale, Ariz., CNBC is reporting[2]. The car will be one of 1,400 auctioned off at the event.
The Batmobile is expected to bring in $5 million. It will be sold alongside other expensive cars including a Mercedes Gullwing once owned by Clark Gable and the “General Lee” stunt car from The Dukes of Hazzard.
The original Batmobile began as a 1955 Lincoln Futura and first appeared on screen, not as the Batmobile but in It Started With a Kiss, starring Debbie Reynolds.
