China Mobile: Just a day after talks of a cheaper iPhone aimed at emerging markets surfaced, Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO Tim Cook is now in China talking with China Mobile (NYSE:CHL), the country’s largest carrier. The iPhone currently is not offered to China Mobile’s 700 million subscribers, according to CNET. The carrier’s president says this is because the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 are not compatible with its network. As a result, the smartphone is only sold through the smaller carriers China Unicom and China Telecom.

iPad Display: Sources say Apple is already working with Foxconn’s subsidiary Shenzhen Century Science & Technology on the display for the iPad Mini 2. While the first version of the product features a non-retina display, the company is expected to use a retina display for the updated product. The company has also been sampling one-glass solution technology.

CES: Apple is no longer attending the Consumer Electronics Show, but it still managed to steal the spotlight, according to CNN. While there are countless tablets being unveiled to compete with the iPad, there are even more Apple accessories to go with it (and other Apple products). In fact, there is a section — called the iLounge — which is dedicated solely to Apple-related products … and it houses nearly 500 of the 3,000 exhibitors. Some gadgets include adapters, Mac batteries and decorated cases. Companies are drawn to the fact that it’s easy to tailor accessories to Apple and that customers have proven they are winning to spend money for device accessories, CNN reports.
