Twitter Vine’s Thorny Porn Problem

twitter logo e1298993107711 Twitter Vine's Thorny Porn Problem[1]The first people to truly begin using Twitter’s new Vine app are posting porn videos.

The not-work-safe video trend has the social media company scrambling, CNN is reporting[2]. The company is apologizing after a pornographic video ended up as an “Editor’s Pick” on the front page of the site.

In a statement sent to CNN, the company said, “A human error resulted in a video with adult content becoming one of the videos in Editor’s Picks, and upon realizing this mistake we removed the video immediately. We apologize to our users for the error.”

The Vine app is available only on Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL[3]) App store. Apple hasn’t released a statement about the Vine porn problem. However, the company has a history of disallowing apps with a focus on sexual content. Last week, it dropped the 500px app because it allowed access to pornographic images.
