Companies Increasing DividendsThis exciting week saw the major indices cap one of their best Januaries in years and saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit 14,000 for the first time since 2007. Helping fuel the fire were a number of impressive earnings reports, many of them accompanied by announcements of higher dividend payouts.

In all, 10 companies made it onto our Companies Increasing Dividends list for the week. (Note: All dividend yields are as of Feb. 1.)

Metal packaging company Ball (NYSE:BLL) raised its quarterly dividend 30% to 13 cents per share, payable March 15 to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 1.
BLL Dividend Yield: 1.15%

Semiconductor manufacturer Broadcom (NASDAQ:BRCM) raised its quarterly dividend 10% to 11 cents per share, payable March 4 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 15.
BRCM Dividend Yield: 1.34%

Doughnut and coffee restaurant chain Dunkin Brands (NASDAQ:DNKN) raised its quarterly dividend 27% to 19 cents per share, payable Feb. 20 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Feb. 11.
DNKN Dividend Yield: 2.06%

Railroad operator Kansas City Southern (NYSE:KSU) boosted its quarterly dividend 10% to 21.5 cents per share, payable April 3 to shareholders of record at the close of business March 11.
KSU Dividend Yield: 0.91%

Toymaker Mattel (NASDAQ:MAT) raised its quarterly dividend 16.1% to 36 cents per share, payable March 8 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 22.
MAT Dividend Yield: 3.77%

Information services provider McGraw-Hill (NYSE:MHP) increased its quarterly dividend by 9.8% to 28 cents per share, payable March 12 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 26.
MHP Dividend Yield: 1.92%

Automotive retailer Penske Automotive (NYSE:PAG) raised its quarterly dividend 7.7% to 14 cents per share, payable March 1 to shareholders of record on Feb. 11.
PAG Dividend Yield: 1.69%

Recreational vehicle maker Polaris Industries (NYSE:PII) revved up its quarterly dividend by 14% to 42 cents per share, payable March 15 to shareholders of record at the close of business March 1. This is the 18th consecutive year PII has increased its payout.
PII Dividend Yield: 1.92%

Fertilizer and feed producer Potash (NYSE:POT) raised its quarterly dividend 33% to 28 cents per share, payable May 2 to shareholders of record as of April 11.
POT Dividend Yield: 2.63%

Water utility SJW (NYSE:SJW) raised its quarterly dividend 3% to 18.25 cents per share, payable March 1 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Feb. 11.
SJW Dividend Yield: 2.62%
