The high-end sports car maker withdrew from the U.S. in 1995 after its American sales sputtered. But, by the end of this year, it will try to make a comeback with the Alfa Romeo 4C, a sleek new supercar with carbon fiber chassis and high-powered engine, NBCNews notes.

Priced somewhere between $75,000 and $100,000, the Alfa Romeo 4C is aimed at a limited market. If it meets expectations, Alfa Romeo plans to introduce three new models to the U.S., competing with rival luxury car makers like BMW and Volkswagen‘s (PINK:VLKAY) Audi.

Unveiled to the media last year, the 4C has suffered a number of delays, including a recently announced setback due to issues regarding its powertrain.

The return of Alfa Romeo comes after its parent, Fiat (PINK:FIATY) continues to see growing sales from its American subsidiary, Chrysler.
