A bus carrying people just off the Carnival (NYSE:CCL) Triumph cruise ship broke down as it took the newly freed customers from Mobile, Ala. to New Orleans. It’s a final jab at the vacationers, reports CBS News.
The passengers were stranded on Sunday when a fire broke out in the ship’s engine room and caused it to lose power. Since then it has been either adrift or was being towed into port by other ships. It just got into dock today, and the passengers were finally free to return home.
Carnvial CEO Gerry Cahill boarded the ship as it docked to personally apologize to passengers. “We pride ourselves in providing our guests with a great vacation experience and clearly we failed in this particular case,” Cahill later told CBS News.
