Troubled actor Charlie Sheen is helping an injured teen in her recovery.
Sheen has donated $10,000 to the family of Teagan Marti to help buy a therapy dog, reports CBS Miami. The dog will assist her in daily living tasks.
Marti was injured in 2010 when a ride at a Wisconsin amusement park collapsed, throwing her to the ground. The teen suffered damage to her spine, pelvis and brain as well as multiple internal injuries. She initially lost the use of her arms and legs but now can get around with assistance from a walker.
The dog — an English golden retriever — will assist Marti with turning on lights, carrying things and companionship. The puppy is going through training right now.
Sheen became aware of her plight through the actor’s godfather. He told CBS: “I like to pay it forward. People come into your orbit for a reason. You don’t always know what that is ahead of time, but if I ignore these requests, then I don’t have any opportunity to see where these things lead us, or lead me.”
