Fortune set out to determine which American cities suffer from the worst traffic congestion.
Not surprisingly, New York City headed the list, with three of its five boroughs in the top five spots. Two Californian cities made the list, as did one major Texas metropolis. The remainder were on the East Coasts.
The list was compiled with data obtained from one million downloads of the mobile app iOnRoad, which works on both Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone and smartphones running Google‘s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android operating system.
Here are the 10 Cities with the worst traffic, according to Fortune:
- Brooklyn (New York City)
- Queens (New York City)
- Pittsburgh
- Manhattan (New York City)
- Philadelphia
- Irvine, Calif.
- Houston
- Los Angeles
- Boston
- Washington, D.C.
