Harris Poll: The Most Reputable Company in America Is …

[1]For the first time, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN[2]) is atop the Harris Interactive list of companies with the best reputation.

It’s the 14th year that Harris Interactive has conducted the survey, reports Business Insider[3]. It asked more than 14,000 people about various aspects of the top 60 corporations in America.

Respondents were asked about six items in determining a company’s reputation: Social responsibility, emotional appeal, financial performance, products, vision and workplace environment all factored into the final ranking.

This year, Amazon beat out Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL[4]) for the top rank. Here are the top five.

  1. Amazon
  2. Apple
  3. Disney (NYSE:DIS[5])
  4. Google (NASDAQ:GOOG[6])
  5. Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ[7])
