Man Quits Job Over ‘666’ on W-2 Form

The Satanic-number kept dogging him at his former employer

Walter Slonopas takes the idea of the Devil very seriously. So seriously, in fact, that he left his job after finding the number 666 on a tax form.

The former maintenance worker at Contech Casting in Clarksville, Tenn., has a bit of a history with the number, which associated with Satan in the Bible, ABC News noted.

He was given an identify badge that ended in 666 after joining the company. After he pointed it out, he was given a new badge. He received another badge also ending in 666 a few months later after the company switched payroll providers. Slonopas, a born-again Christian briefly left the company after that incident, but returned when it apologized for the error.

When Slonopas received his most recent W-2 and saw 666 stamped on it, he knew he had to quit again, he told ABC News, or risk selling his soul to the devil.

Contech says it has issued him a new 666-free W-2 and hopes he will return to work.
