MC Hammer — whose real name is Stanley Burrell — was arrested Sunday night in Dublin, Calif. outside a gas station, reports The Los Angeles Times. Authorities noticed that the car he was driving had an expired registration and was not previously registered to him. He reportedly was angered when he asked if he was on parole or probation, became argumentative and refused to exit the vehicle. A deputy then arrested him.
In a tweet, the rapper described the question as “racial profiling.” He also described the officer as a “chubby elvis looking dude” and later tweeted “It was comical to me until he pulled out his guns, blew his whistle and yelled for help.”
Burrell was later released on bail.
