A Hollywood spoof giveaway has landed a California fast-food restaurant in trouble with parents.
A Santee, Calif., location of Der Weinerschnitzel — a popular hot dog chain — included a calendar in its kid’s meals that features a nude woman, reports The New York Daily News. The giveaway was first noticed by a man after his son peeled a sticker off the calendar.
It’s part of a spoof of popular movie posters. On the calendar is a parody of the famous Jaws poster with a woman swimming being attacked, but instead of a shark, she’s being attacked by cute dogs. In the original, the woman is naked. Instead of covering her, the chain simply placed a swimsuit-shaped sticker over her.
Customer Dallas Stewart told his local TV station: “That was a big shocker to us. That this was the toy included in the kid’s meal. My wife at first really couldn’t believe it and then the more we looked at it the more shocked we became.”
The chain says it is aware of the problem and is taking steps to deal with it.
