Oprah Injured While Lifting Big Birthday Gift

[1]Media giant Oprah Winfrey apparently has injured herself while trying to pick up a birthday present.

Winfrey — who just celebrated her 59th birthday — hurt her back trying to carry a gift from fellow star Tyler Perry, Enstarz reports[2]. Perry gave Winfrey a bushel-sized bunch of roses, and she hurt her back when she tried to move them around her house.

The drama played out over social media. In response to a fan’s tweet about her birthday, Oprah tweeted, “In bed with an ice pack most of today. Moved a bushel of roses sent by @tylerperry and sprained a back muscle.” That led Perry to reply on Facebook, “I FEEL SO BAD. I like to send really large flower arrangements to people for whatever occasion. Well, I sent one to Oprah yesterday for her birthday. She strained her back picking it up. No joke! Feel better Oprah. Happy birthday. Sorry.”

Oprah holds no grudges against the actor and director, and her Oprah Winfrey Network is developing several sitcoms with Perry.

Still, Perry says he’s learned his lesson. He tweeted, “Next year, I’m sending her one rose.”
