For a bit there, it didn’t seem like Super Bowl XLVII was going to live up to its building. But thanks to a surprisingly energizing halftime show, a power outage and one heck of a second-half rally bid by the 49ers (that at least kept the Ravens’ win from being a blowout), viewers who stuck around were amply rewarded.
And, of course, the Super Bowl’s 30-second side shows — the commercials! — were worth tuning in to see, too. Here are five of the best:
Yum Brands‘ (NYSE:YUM[1]) Taco Bell featured a ad of hard-partying seniors causing trouble and finishing up eating a late-night meal at the restaurant.
GoDaddy’s controversial ad featured Bar Refaeli and a geeky-looking guy in a kiss.
Chrysler delivered the most touching ad of the night with radio legend Paul Harvey’s “So God Made a Farmer” speech and Dodge Ram trucks.
Best Buy (NYSE:BBY[2]) featured Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler making a salesman uncomfortable.
Anheuser-Busch (NYSE:BUD[3]) went with the “aww” factor with a commercial about a baby clydesdale growing up.
