An actor from HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones had surgery to reattach part of his right ear after it was bitten off.
Clive Mantle — who plays Greatjon Umber in the cable series — was in a Travelodge hotel in Newcastle, England at the time of the incident, reports BBC News.
A spokesman for Mantle’s agent said that Mantle had part of his right ear bitten off during a dispute over noise in the hotel. Mantle complained to other guests about their behavior and ended up attacked and pinned to the ground.
The spokesman said of Mantle: “He is very shaken and shocked by what has happened, you don’t expect this kind of thing to happen in a hotel.”
“The part of the ear that was bitten off was found and sewn back on,” he said. “Mr Mantle said the police, ambulance and hospital staff were amazing.”
One man has been arrested and released on bail in the incident. Another was questioned and released without charges.
