L’Oreal Pulls Excessively Photoshopped Ads

P&G files claim against L'Oreal over mascara ads

mascara L'Oreal Pulls Excessively Photoshopped AdsMakeup company L’Oreal (PINK:LRLCY) is discontinuing a line of ads that it said used too much digital enhancement.

The ads — for Maybelline Volum’ Express mascara — compared the model’s eyes to a cats eyes with large dark lashes that were expanded in Photoshop, reports BusinessInsider.

Even though the ads contained the disclaimer, “Lashes were enhanced in post-production,” that didn’t stop rival Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) from filing a claim against L’Oreal. P&G had been the subject of a similar complaint concerning one of the company’s 2011 ads featuring singer Taylor Swift for its Cover Girl line.

L’Oreal says it has permanently pulled the ads in question.
