mcdonalds store 630[1]In a bid to attract more health-conscious breakfast diners, McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD[2]) will release a 250-calorie version of its Egg McMuffin sandwich next month[3].

The “Egg White Delight” trims 50 calories from the regular Egg McMuffin by ditching egg yolks. Egg whites used in the sandwich will be grilled and then combined with Canadian bacon, cheddar cheese and a whole grain muffin, the Associated Press notes.

McMuffin enthusiasts can start partaking of the “Egg White Delight” nationwide beginning on April 22. Egg whites will be available for substitution in other breakfast menu items. But there was no word on whether that would come at a higher price.

In September, McDonald’s said it would post calorie-count displays for all items on its menu[4].

Shares of McDonald’s were flat in Thursday midday trading.
