Meet the Woman That Is Literally Allergic to Exercise

Mother of four can't even chase her kids


Workout630A woman in the U.K. appears to be nearly fatally allergic to exercising.

Kasia Beaver — a 33-year-old mother of four from England — suffers from exercise-induced angioedema, reports ABC News.

EIA is a condition where sufferers break out in hives and suffer swelling of the eyes and a closure of the throat after exercising. Attacks are brought on by the increased heart rate and sweating resulting from exercise. In extreme cases, it can potential threaten a sufferer’s life.

Generally, the allergy occurs in combination with others. So that a person may be able to exercise one day but, depending on whether they’ve been exposed to another allergen, may suffer an attack the next day. Beaver’s case is considered so extreme that her doctors have advised her to not even run to catch a bus or her children.
