The young English actress, who rose to prominence playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies alongside Daniel Radcliffe, swiftly took to Twitter to shoot down the rumors, USA TODAY noted.
“Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie?,” Watson tweeted. She later added, “Good. Well that’s that sorted then.”
Universal says that no casting decisions have been made yet.
Last year, the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey became a publishing phenomena, boosting both physical and digital book sales.
Kelly Marcel, who was been tapped to write the screenplay for the movie, has said that the film will be as sex-filled as the books themselves.
