Octomom Faces Welfare Fraud Scrutiny

Complaint alleges that her income too high for assistance

nadya sulemanThe Octomom is being investigated for welfare fraud.

Nadya Suleman — nicknamed “Octomom” because of her successful birth of octuplets in 2009 — is being looked at by the Los Angeles authorities because she earned too much to qualify, reports TMZ.

The allegation states that Suleman is receiving several forms of public assistance — including welfare and food stamps — even though she made more than $200,000 in 2012. Her income came from personal appearance fees and revenue from her pornographic videos.

Authorities in Los Angeles have confirmed the investigation and sources say that witnesses are already being interviewed. If Suleman is convicted she could face prosecution, fines and even up to 3 years in prison.
