The former hype man for rap group Public Enemy could end up spending some time in prison.
Flavor Flav, who’s legal name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr., will be tried in Las Vegas after he pushed his girlfriend and pursued her son with a knife during an altercation on October 17, the Associated Press notes.
Notorious for wearing an over-sized watch around his neck during performances with Public Enemy, Flavor Flav later appeared on cable TV in several reality-based shows, including The Surreal Life, Flavor of Love, and Strange Love, which featured his one-time girlfriend, actress Brigitte Nielsen.
Currently Flavor Flav is looking at up to 12 years in jail if convicted to child endangerment and assault with a weapon. He is 54-years old.
He is expected to plead not guilty to the charges at an April 18 arraignment.
Earlier this month, Shain Gandee, one of the stars of MTV’s reality show Buckwild, was found dead from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning with two other men in a mud-bound vehicle, whose tailpipe had become blocked.
