New Adobe Product Makes ‘TV Everywhere’ Cheaper, Easier

'Adobe Primetime' hopes to alter the delivery of shows over the Internet

Adobe ADBEA new set of software tools from Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) aims to change the way television is handled over the Internet.

The new package — called Adobe Primetime — promises to be a full-service set of management tools to make it easier for companies to deliver streaming video content, CNBC is reporting.

With the package, Adobe hopes to get in front of streaming video growth. According to the company, the new software will allow those who handle streaming content to use one set of software to stream the video, manage subscriptions, track usage and insert targeted ads. By integrating all of these functions, Adobe hopes to become the prime provider of these services.

Abode Primetime already has its first major customer. Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has signed up to use the system to stream its featured programming. That will also include live sporting events through NBC Sports.

According to industry figures, the streaming of television shows on mobile devices grew 300% between 2011 and 2012.
