Texas Restaurant Chain Trademarks Racy Term

ATX Brands — which runs Bikinis Sports Bar and Grill in Texas, Oklahoma and North Carolina — announced that it received the trademark on Tuesday, ABC News is reporting. That means that only the chain can use the term in describing itself.

“We’re really excited about receiving this federal trademark,” CEO Doug Guller said in a statement. “It just further solidifies that Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill is America’s ONLY breastaurant.”

“Breastaurants” are big business, with chains like Hooters, Tilted Kilt and Twin Peaks doing more than $1 billion in business per year. The term has long been used to describe restaurants and bars that place on emphasis on the attractiveness and skimpy clothing of the waitresses.

Now, however, the term belongs exclusively to ATX Brands.
