Consumer Reports released its annual list of Best & Worst Airlines for 2013.
Virgin America topped the list — the company’s first appearance since its start six years ago. (In previous years, the company did not receive enough ratings to merit inclusion.) Virgin received a score of 89/100, and was praised for its … well, just about everything. But particular praise was given for its in-flight entertainment .
Southwest Airlines (LUV) and Jet Blue (JBLU) followed closely with overall ratings of 85. Spirit Airlines (SAVE) was at the bottom of the list, rated 50/100. Spirit’s CEO defended the company and its practices, claiming that its customers know what to expect with the airline’s cheaper prices.
