Chipmaker Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) has decided to become a little more familiar with the populace.
QCOM — which makes computer chips and other pieces of technology — says it wants its Snapdragon chips to become a household name.
Qualcomm has benefited from being a major provider of chips for the exploding smartphone and tablet market. It also makes chips for certain types of high-end wireless technologies that are popular. Now, Reuters reports, it wants to take that popularity and connect customers to its products.
“We’re trying to build an emotional bond with our customers,” Chief Marketing Office Anand Chandrasekher said.
The outreach campaign will focus on the quality of Qualcomm’s technology in an attempt to make customers more loyal to products that feature its chips. The campaign will feature commercials on television and in movie theaters, both in the U.S. and foreign markets.
