On Wednesday, professional social networking website LinkedIn (NASDAQ:LNKD) unveiled a new option that permits users to upload photos and videos to their profiles.
Visual portfolios are meant to allow users, especially those in design-related or media-centered jobs, to post images that highlight their work. The new feature will appear immediately on selected accounts and will be rolled out to all accounts over an unspecified period of time, CBS News notes.
In addition to images, users can create video presentations to showcase their career achievements and projects.
Last week, LinkedIn debuted a new mobile app called LindedIn Contacts, which compiles contact information from users’ digital databases and organizes the information for easy access. The app is currently only available for Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS, but a version for Google‘s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android OS is also planned for future release.
Shares of LinkedIn climbed more than 1% in Thursday morning trading.
