The two flavors are part of the new “Pop-Tarts Gone Nutty” line and are available now. It’s the first time since 1986 that Kellogg has made a peanut butter-flavored Pop-Tart. The last one was the Peanut Butter & Jelly Flavor.
The company anticipates great demand for the new flavor and is shipping the first run in gold foil instead of the normal silver to mark the occasion.
“Peanut butter has long been the most requested flavor by our fans,” said marketing director Dick Podiak. “We think everyone will agree it was worth the wait once they taste these delicious new varieties.”
The company will be giving the Pop-Tarts away on a promotional tour that also features a toaster-shaped truck.
