The two games — Powerball and Mega Millions — combine for more than $350 million in prizes, KTVI-TV reports. A Mega Millions winner will receive $139 million and the Powerball jackpot is $222 million.
The odds against a person winning either game are high — 1 in 175,223,510 for Powerball and 1 in 175,711,536 for the Mega Millions. However, that doesn’t stop people from playing. In fact, sales of Powerball tickets have increased since the price doubled last year.
So for now, players can expect to see longer lines for tickets as the jackpots grow.
