According to Masterard‘s (MA) Global Destinations Cities Index, more tourists will visit Bangkok this year than London.
Thailand’s capital city is forecast to receive 15.98 visitors from around the world, edging past the British capital, which is expected to see 15.96 million visitors, and which was the most visited city last year, the Daily Mail notes.
Other cities making the top five were located in Europe, Asia and North America. Cities in Asia and the Middle East were noted to be rising quickly on the list. If current trends hold, the number of visitors to Istanbul, Turkey, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, could eclipse those to New York, Singapore and Paris by 2017.
