A woman in San Jose, Calif., is accused of swapping bottles of orange juice at a local Starbucks (NASDAQ:SBUX) with bottles containing poison.
The woman — Ramineh Behbehanian, age 50 — was arrested Monday after she was reportedly seen making the switch, ABC News reports.
After a witness saw Behbehanian make the switch, management called police and the Snell Avenue Starbucks was evacuated. While Behbahanian drove away, an employee recorded her license plate number and police tracked her down.
When the San Jose fire department examined the bottles Behbehanian left at the store, they were found to contain a mixture of isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). If consumed, rubbing alcohol can cause illness and even death.
Behbehanian is being held without bail by the San Jose police department. There is no indication that she acted with anyone else, and no motive is known.
