Twitter’s already stunning reach is expanding.
The company on Thursday announced a deal with Yahoo (YHOO) that will integrate some Twitter feeds into the news stream on Yahoo’s iconic homepage.
CEO Marissa Mayer’s latest initiative is a continuation of her move to overhaul the former dot-com darling, this time aiming to cash in on Twitter’s cachet with younger users. And Twitter gets a big stage on which to showcase what it has to offer.
“As users explore our nearly endless stream of content, we will seamlessly include relevant and personalized Tweets alongside stories from Yahoo! and our other sources,” Mayer said in a blog post. “With this greater breadth of compelling content, we’re excited to give our users even more opportunities to learn and connect.”
The integration of Twitter feeds in to the Yahoo news stream will roll out across desktop and mobile over the next few days.
