$1.2 Million Stolen From NYC-Bound Flight

money stacks hundreds 630 300x227 $1.2 Million Stolen From NYC Bound Flight[1]A Swiss Air Lines flight carrying a large sum of cash landed Monday with some of the cargo missing.

The $94 million[2] shipment was being transported from Zurich, Switzerland to John F. Kennedy International Airport, where it would then be taken to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

“When it got here, the money was missing,”  Jim Margolin, an FBI spokesman, told ABCNews. $1.2 million had been taken from the shipment.

The discovery was made during an official count of the money at Federal offices in Lower Manhattan, reports ABCNews.

While $1.2 million is a large sum, the $50 million diamond heist[3] earlier this year dwarfs that number.
