According to an Associated Press review, some of President Obama’s appointees are using secret email addresses.
The officials claim that their inboxes would otherwise be overwhelmed, hence the need for “secret” addresses. The AP notes that the protected email addresses are not simply the appointees’ personal addresses, but addresses supplied by the government.
The Department of Labor asked the AP to pay $1 million for the information, which the AP was seeking under the Freedom of Information Act.
