Facebook (FB) billionaire and Napster co-founder Sean Parker paid $10 million for his recent Big Sur wedding.
Before being forced to pay an extra $2.5 million, that is.
Yes, that’s the whopping amount Parker and The California Coastal Commission reached. Turns out Parker built “a large movie-set like wedding site in an ecologically sensitive area of Big Sur without proper permits,” according to The Associated Press.
Of course, that’s just the money part. Parker also has to create and distribute a public education video or app aimed at helping to identify areas where the public can access the coast.
Officials did say that Parker was quite cooperative. They also opted for a settlement instead of simply shutting the event down.
