Facebook Finally Gets In on Hashtag Game

Facebook (FB[1]) has finally caught up to last year’s trends.

The company announced today[2] that users can now click on the hashtags, allowing them to see the broader conversation about the tagged topics. The company only introduced the hashtag feature recently, catching up to websites like  Instagram (now owned by Facebook) and Twitter, which have been using them for much longer.

Facebook assured its users that they can still control the audience for its hashtags, the same as they can for generic posts.

Please use hashtags responsibly.
