This week was fairly normal as far as dividend increases go, with just a handful of companies — including a Dow healthcare component and a global shipping giant — leading the way.
In all, eight companies made it onto our Companies Increasing Dividends list for this week. (Note: Dividend yields as of June 7.)
Cutting, measuring and safety products manufacturer Acme United (ACU) raised its quarterly dividend 14% to 8 cents per share, payable July 3 to shareholders of record as of June 17.
ACU Dividend Yield: 2.56%
Global semiconductor manufacturer Altera (ALTR) raised its quarterly dividend 50% to 15 cents per share, payable Sept. 3 to shareholders of record on Aug. 12.
ALTR Dividend Yield: 1.87%
Media video hardware and software provider Concurrent Computer (CCUR) doubled its quarterly dividend to 12 cents per share, payable June 28 to shareholders of record as of June 17.
CCUR Dividend Yield: 6.2%
Restaurant chain Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores (CBRL) raised its quarterly dividend 50% to 75 cents per share, payable Aug. 5 to shareholders of record as of July 19.
CBRL Dividend Yield: 3.06%
Transportation and delivery services giant FedEx (FDX) raised its dividend 7% to 15 cents per share, payable July 1 to shareholders of record as of June 17.
FDX Dividend Yield: 0.6%
Oil and gas drilling company Helmerich & Payne (HP) raised its quarterly dividend 233% to 50 cents per share, payable Aug. 30 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 15.
HP Dividend Yield: 3.13%
Global gaming machine manufacturer International Game Technology (IGT) raised its quarterly dividend 13% to 9 cents per share, payable July 5 to shareholders of record as of June 20.
IGT Dividend Yield: 2.05%
Health insurer UnitedHealth Group (UNH) raised its quarterly dividend 31.8% to 28 cents per share, payable June 21 to shareholders of record as of June 14.
UNH Dividend Yield: 1.79%
