Nissan (NSANY) is looking to increase production in the United States.
The vehicle manufacturer plans to add 900 new employees to its Smyrna, Tenn., factory.
The hiring started June 1 and the starting wages of full-time employees are set at $13.25 to $15.25 an hour. Included in the hiring are assembly line and production, material handling, industrial maintenance, tool and dye maker, and warehouse and production support positions.
This new hiring wave will push the factory past 7,000 workers.
Production at Nissan’s Smyrna assembly plants increased by more than 14% in 2012.
