wineinacan[1]Passengers on Spirit Airlines (SAVE[2]) will soon have a choice as to how they drink their wine[3].

The discount carrier currently offers mini-bottles of Sutter Home wines, for a charge, of course. Soon it will add white and strawberry moscato version of Friends Just Wines to its beverage list. The Friends Just Wines won’t come in mini-bottles, though. They come in cans, USA TODAY notes

Spirit’s CEO is betting that consumers will overcome any resistance to the idea of canned wines. He notes that “choices at 30,000 feet are pretty limited.”

The privilege of sipping wine from a can will cost fliers $7. Savvy fliers can save a bit not their in-flight wine by purchasing two cans for $12.

Shares of Spirit Airlines climbed almost 1% in Friday morning trading.
