Discount retail chain Target (TGT) is expanding its personalized beauty consulting program to more stores.
The company debuted the service last year at a small number of outlets. The concierge service offers beauty consultants stationed inside beauty-product areas of the store who assist customers with makeup and personal care products choices. The consultants provide information about different products, but are not charged with promoting any specific brands, Retailing Today notes.
Company officials said the service offered shoppers “friendly, personalized” guidance.
Target’s concierge beauty service will be introduced at about 200 stores in Northern Virginia, Maryland, Illinois and California this year.
Last month, Target said that it will start selling four wedding gowns, priced between $99.99 and $129.99, as well as affordable bridesmaid dresses and flower girl outfits.
Shares of Target fell fractionally in Thursday trading.
