The Food Network Fires Paula Deen

Scripps Networks Interactive’s (SNI[1]) The Food Network has announced that it has fired Paula Deen[2].

“Food Network will not renew Paula Deen’s contract when it expires at the end of this month,” reads a Food Network statement.

The decision from the Food Network comes after Deen caused controversy last week[3] when she admitted to using the N-word.

The controversy only got worse when Deen revealed that she had suggested a southern-styled wedding with black servers to her brother, Bubba.

Deen was aware of her mistake and even made an apology via YouTube videos[4], but viewers weren’t buying it.

“She is not sorry,” reads one comment.¬†¬†“She is sorry she got caught.”
