Scripps Networks Interactive’s (SNI) The Food Network has announced that it has fired Paula Deen.
“Food Network will not renew Paula Deen’s contract when it expires at the end of this month,” reads a Food Network statement.
The decision from the Food Network comes after Deen caused controversy last week when she admitted to using the N-word.
The controversy only got worse when Deen revealed that she had suggested a southern-styled wedding with black servers to her brother, Bubba.
Deen was aware of her mistake and even made an apology via YouTube videos, but viewers weren’t buying it.
“She is not sorry,” reads one comment. “She is sorry she got caught.”
