5 Best Sectors to Watch This Week

Leisure Goods, Water Utilities, Household Products, Beverages, and Infrastructure have most buys

   

The Household Products, Water Utilities, Leisure Goods, Infrastructure, and Beverages sectors are having a strong week, according to Portfolio Grader.

The Household Products sector’s track record is proving one of the best with 100% of its stocks (9 out of 9) rating a “buy”. With overall grades of A, Clorox (NYSE:CLX), Church & Dwight (NYSE:CHD), and Colgate-Palmolive (NYSE:CL) are buoying the sector. The best performer in this sector is Church & Dwight, which saw its price jump up 42.4% in the last 12 months. This is better than the S&P 500, which has seen a 18.3% increase over the same period.

With 100% of the sector’s stocks (6 out of 6) rating a “buy,” the Water Utilities sector is one of the strongest. Out of the Water Utilities stocks, American States Water (NYSE:AWR), Aqua America (NYSE:WTR), and American Water Works (NYSE:AWK) are out front with A’s. American States Water is the top stock in its sector, with an 83.7% increase from 12 months ago.

Leisure Goods is thriving this week with 100% of stocks in the sector (7 out of 7) currently rating a “buy”. Mattel (NASDAQ:MAT), Smith & Wesson (NASDAQ:SWHC), and Brunswick (NYSE:BC) are paving the way for the sector with B grades. Brunswick beats the other stocks in its sector, with a 127.5% increase from a year ago.

Infrastructure stands out with 80% of the sector’s stocks (4 out of 5) rating a “buy”. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (NYSE:PAC), Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (NYSE:ASR), and Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (NASDAQ:OMAB) are all currently earning A’s. Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste is the best performer in this sector, with a 121.7% increase in the last 12 months.

The Beverages sector is thriving on Portfolio Grader this week, with 73% of its stocks (16 out of 22) currently rating a “buy”. Among Beverages stocks, Diageo (NYSE:DEO), Coca-Cola Femsa (NYSE:KOF), and Boston Beer (NYSE:SAM) are leading the way with A’s. Boston Beer is performing the best overall in the sector, with a 72.9% increase from 12 months ago.
