Country Singer Randy Travis suffered from a stroke Wednesday night and is in critical condition after surgery.
Travis was first admitted to Baylor Medical Center McKinney, and underwent a procedure to have a pump inserted that helps increase blood flow prior to the stroke. Travis was then moved to The Heart Hospital at Baylor Plano, reports The Washington Post.
“We determined together in a joint decision that a higher level of specialized care was appropriate, and therefore we transferred him to The Heart Hospital,” Dr. Michael Mack, told CNN.
According to doctors, Travis had stabilized and was showing sign of improvement before the stroke occurred, reports CNN.
“His family and friends here with him at the hospital request your prayers and support.” Kirt Webster, Travis’ publicist, told CNN.
