[1]In a week in which nearly 160 companies released earnings, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the past few days were chock full of dividend increases.
Companies across a broad range of sectors gave back to investors — quite handsomely in some cases. Hershey (HSY[2]), Stanley Black & Decker (SEK[3]), Crane (CR[4]), and Moody’s (MCO[5]) were some of the bigger names among the whopping 26 companies that made it onto our Companies Increasing Dividends[6] list this week. (Note: All dividend yields are as of July 26):
Reston, Virginia-based bank holding company Access National (ANCX[7]) raised its dividend 10% to 11 cents per share, payable on August 23 to shareholders of record as of August 7.
ANCX Dividend Yield: 2.87%
Shelf-stable and household goods distributor B&G Foods (BGS[8]) raised its quarterly dividend 10.3% to 32 cents per share, payable on October 30 to shareholders of record as of September 30.
BGS Dividend Yield: 3.66%
Commercial bank holding company BBCN Bancorp (BBCN[9]) raised its quarterly dividend 50% to 7.5 cents per share, payable on or about August 16 to shareholders of record as of August 2.
BBCN Dividend Yield: 2.02%
Bar Harbor, Maine-based bank holding company Bar Harbor Bancshares (BHB[10]) raised its quarterly dividend 1.6% to 31.5 cents per share, payable on September 15 to shareholders of record as of August 13.
BHB Dividend Yield: 3.22%
Industrial products manufacturer Barnes Group (B[11]) raised its quarterly dividend 10% to 11 cents per share, payable on September 10 to shareholders of record as of August 27.
B Dividend Yield: 1.34%
Specialty hydrocarbon manufacturer Calumet Specialty Products Partners (CLMT[12]) raised its quarterly distribution 0.7% to 68.5 cents per share, payable August 14 to shareholders of record as of August 2.
CLMT Dividend Yield: 8.04%
Pikeville, Kentucky-based bank holding company Community Trust Bancorp (CTBI[13]) raised its quarterly dividend 1.6% to 32 cents per share, payable on October 1 to shareholders of record as ofSeptember 15.
CTBI Dividend Yield: 3.13%
Engineered industrial products manufacturer Crane (CR[4]) raised its dividend 7% to 30 cents per share, payable on September 10 to shareholders of record as of August 30.
CR Dividend Yield: 1.95%
Insurance and financial services company Hartford Financial (HIG[14]) raised its quarterly dividend 50% to 15 cents per share, payable on October 1 to shareholders of record as of September 3.
HIG Dividend Yield: 1.92%
Chocolatier Hershey (HSY[2]) raised its quarterly dividend 15% to 48.5 cents per share, payable on September 13 to shareholders of record as of August 23.
HSY Dividend Yield: 2.06%
Tooling and engineered components maker Kennametal (KMT[15]) raised its quarterly dividend 12.5% to 18 cents per share, payable on August 21 to shareholders of record as of August 6.
KMT Dividend Yield: 1.69%
Oil and natural gas distributor Legacy Reserves (LGCY[16]) raised its quarterly dividend 1% to 58 cents per share, payable on August 14 to shareholders of record as of August 1.
LGCY Dividend Yield: 8.31%
Water management and road infrastructure service provider Lindsay (LNN[17]) raised its quarterly dividend 13% to 13 cents per share, payable on August 30 to shareholders of record as of August 16.
LNN Dividend Yield: 0.61%
Natural gas transportation and processing Master Limited Partnership Markwest Energy (MWE[18]) raised its quarterly distribution 5% to 84 cents per share, payable on August 14 to shareholders of record as of August 6, with an ex-dividend date of August 2.
MWE Dividend Yield: 4.94%
Credit rating and economic research company Moody’s (MCO[5]) raised its quarterly dividend 25% to 25 cents per share, payable on September 10 to shareholders of record as of August 10.
MCO Dividend Yield: 1.56%
Communications infrastructure provider Motorola Solutions (MSI[19]) raised its quarterly dividend 19% to 31 cents per share, payable on October 13 to shareholders of record as of September 13.
MSI Dividend Yield: 2.30%
Oil owner, operator, and refiner MPLX LP (MPLX[20]) raised its quarterly dividend 4% to 28.5 cents per share, payable on August 14 to shareholders of record as of August 2.
MPLX Dividend Yield: 3.37%
Railroad operator Norfolk Southern (NSC[21]) raised its quarterly dividend 4% to 52 cents per share, payable on September 10 to shareholders of record as of August 2.
NSC Dividend Yield: 2.82%
Natural gas storage supplier Oneok Partners (OKS[22]) raised its quarterly dividend 1.4% to 72 cents per share, payable on August 15 to shareholder of record as of August 5.
OKS Dividend Yield: 5.69%
Timber and real estate management Real Estate Investment Trust Rayonier (RYN[23]) raised its quarterly dividend 11.4% to 49 cents per share, payable on September 30 to shareholders of record as of September 16. This is the 9th dividend hike in the last 11 years.
RYN Dividend Yield: 3.34%
Non-hazardous waste management services provider Republic Services (RSG[24]) raised its quarterly dividend 10% to 26 cents per share, payable on October 15 to shareholders of record as of October 1.
RSG Dividend Yield: 3.05%
Power and hand tools manufacturer Stanley Black & Decker (SWK[25]) raised its quarterly dividend 2% to 50 cents per share, payable on September 17 to shareholders of record as of September 6.
SWK Dividend Yield: 2.37%
Cemetery owner and operator StoneMor Partners (STON[26]) raised its quarterly dividend 1% to 60 cents per share, payable on August 15 to shareholders of record as of August 5.
STON Dividend Yield: 9.01%
Pennsylvania-based savings and loan Northwest Bancshares (NWBI[27]) raised its quarterly dividend 8% to 13 cents per share, payable on August 15 to shareholders of record as of August 1.
NWBI Dividend Yield: 3.66%
Independent petroleum refiner Valero (VLO[28]) raised its quarterly dividend 12.5% to 22.5 cents per share, payable on September 11 to shareholders of record as of August 14.
VLO Dividend Yield: 2.48%
Natural gas transportation company Williams Partners (WPZ[29]) raised its quarterly dividend 2% to 86.25 per share, payable on August 9 to shareholders of record as of August 2.
WPZ Dividend Yield: 6.52%
