Energizer Bunny Bolsters Its Feminine Hygiene Business
J&J to sell Stayfree, Carefree and other brands
American battery manufacturer Energizer Holdings (ENR) has made a deal to boost its feminine hygiene presence via a $185 million all-cash deal with Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) for some of its brands.
The Washington Post reports that the company best-known for its Energizer Bunny will be buying Stayfree, Carefree, and o.b. from Johnson & Johnson by the year’s fourth quarter.
Energizer’s purchase would add to its growing line of personal care products, including its Playtex feminine hygiene products, Hawaiian Tropic and Banana Boat sunscreens, among others.
As part of the deal, Energizer also will inherit a J&J manufacturing plant in Montreal.
