Floating Hotel Room Will Set You Back $50K

Large-pocketed visitors to the Mile-High City can now raise their elevation a few meters more.

The Curtis, a Denver-based Hilton DoubleTree Hotel, offers a “Lloyd in the Sky with Diamonds” package that features one night in the Hotel Rehearsal, a hotel room boosted 22 feet into the air.

The Hotel Rehearsal, unveiled by its creator Alex Schweder as part of this month’s Biennial of the Americas, is attached by scissor lift to the top of a van. The floating room includes a fold-out couch and a small bathroom, equipped with a shower, sink, and toilet.

In addition to a night in the novelty room, the 1960s-themed package comes with a limo ride from the airport, brunch at The Corner Office Restaurant & Martini Bar, invitations for 100 friends to Lloyd’s Studio 54, a Tiffany diamond and earing set, and two Apple iPod Nanos and an iPad Mini loaded with classic rock tunes and the StarGazer app. The package costs a total of $50,000.

The package is available from now until Aug. 23.
