Walgreen (WAG) and CVS Caremark (CVS) stores will not be carrying the Rolling Stone cover featuring Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
CVS announced its decision not to carry the cover on Facebook (FB) Wednesday, with a post stating, “CVS/pharmacy has decided not to sell the current issue of Rolling Stone featuring a cover photo of the Boston Marathon bombing suspect,”, reports Forbes.
As of midday Thursday the Facebook post has received over 60,000 likes.
Walgreen followed suite today by announcing via Twitter that it also refuses to carry the August issue of Rolling Stone, reports Forbes.
The magazine cover featuring Boston bomber suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been defended by Rolling Stone. The magazine claims that the controversy surrounding the cover is much like what happened over 40 years ago when it chose to feature Charles Manson on its cover.
