Sprint (S) announced Thursday, that it will continue to offer unlimited data plans to customers that stay with the mobile service provider.
The new plan, called the “Sprint Unlimited Guarantee”, offers unlimited data to smartphone users for $30 a month, and $10 a month for non-smartphone users.
Sprint was expected to follow suit and stop offering its unlimited data plan as well.
“We are distinctly different in our market position (from) AT&T and Verizon,” Dan Hesse, Sprint CEO, told The Associated Press.
Sprint also tweaked its pricing plans Thursday. The company claims that the latest offerings could save Sprint customers $240 a year compared to Verizon and Vodafone Group (VOD )customers, and $120 a year compared to AT&T and T-Mobile (TMUS) customers, reports CNBC.
