Silver became well known during the 2012 presidential campaign. He gave an extremely accurate look into President Obama’s re-election chances on his blog on NYTimes.com. With silver moving to ESPN his blog will return to its original home, FiveThirtyEight.com, reports USA Today.
“Nate brings a unique fan base to ESPN, where he will curate a cross-platform, cross-discipline experience with a fresh take on the intersection of sports, culture, technology, economics and politics that will be provocative and completely different than anything else in the marketplace today,” ESPN President John Skipper told USA Today.
The star author started his statistics career analyzing baseball before he moved to politics. The return to FiveThirtyEight.com will have Silver analyzing sports again, and he will still continue to report on politics. Silver will act as editor-in-chief of the site, and will build a team to help him when he joins ESPN later this year, reports ESPN.
