The Phablets Are Coming

Nokia unveils its new Windows phone

NokiaNokia (NOK) revealed its new “phablet” (a mixture between a phone and tablet), the Lumia 625, on Tuesday.

The new phone is the largest Lumia Windows Phone to date. The screen is 4.7 inches, which is large enough for the phone to compete in the same market as other phablets, such as Samsung’s Galaxy S4 and HTC’s One.  The phone uses a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, has 512MB of RAM, a 2,000mAh battery and 8 GB of internal memory. The phone also has a microSD card slot for up to 64 GB of additional storage, reports CNET.

Nokia claims that the 2,000mAh battery will give the phone 15 hours of battery life.

The 625 features a 5-megapixel camera which can shoot video in 1080p. The 625 comes in green, white, yellow, black, red and orange. The phone will go on sale in multiple countries during the third quarter of this year, and is priced at around $290, reports CNET.
